Surrender

When we become Christians, we are "crucified with Christ" (Romans 6:6; Galatians 2:20): our rebellious sin nature is put to death with Christ who died on the cross as payment for our sins. While we did not die physically with Him, we died positionally. The cross you and I died on positionally must be the cross we die on personally each and every day. Each and every day, we must choose to surrender our lives to God and His will. Not to do so means never getting close to Jesus Christ, never becoming one of his intimate friends. You and I may go to heaven, but we will get there regretting the times we insisted on having our way instead of following His and being painfully aware of the opportunities for surrender that we passed up and the quality of life in Christ we missed out on.
